Consent & Data Controls

Your principle: IZN AI is built on a consent-first architecture. Every feature that accesses personal data activates only with your explicit opt-in. You can withdraw any optional consent at any time from Settings → Consent within the app.
1. What You Consent To at Registration
Account Creation and Service Delivery
We process your name, email and phone number to create your account, verify your identity, and provide the core IZN AI service. This is required to use the app.
REQUIRED
AI Processing on Private UAE Servers
Your messages and queries are processed by IZN AI's private language models running on UAE-hosted servers. No data leaves our infrastructure for AI processing. All AI computation is local to our servers.
REQUIRED FOR AI FEATURES
Conversation History Storage
AI conversation history is stored (encrypted) to provide context in future sessions — so you don't need to re-explain your situation each time. You may delete your history at any time from Settings → AI → Clear History.
OPTIONAL — ON BY DEFAULT
Transactional Email Notifications
Email notifications for account events: password reset, email verification, subscription confirmations, and critical security alerts.

2. Optional Consents (Activate Per Feature)
Push Notifications
Receive push notifications for calendar reminders, task due dates, wellbeing alerts, and Life Guardian safety events. You control notification categories in Settings → Notifications.
OPTIONAL
Location for Nearby Connect
Coarse location (city-level) to show you verified members nearby via the Social and Connect features. Only active when you open Nearby Connect. Location is not stored on our servers beyond the duration of your search session.

Background Location for Life Guardian
Continuous background location monitoring to trigger safety alerts if you are in an unexpected location or haven't checked in. Only active when Life Guardian monitoring is enabled. You may disable at any time from Life Guardian → Settings.

Public Directory Listing
Create a public profile in the IZN AI Verified Directory, making your name, skills, bio and contact method visible to other verified IZN AI members. You may unpublish your listing at any time from Profile → Directory Listing.

Contact Network Access
Read your device contacts to help you invite people you know to IZN AI. Contact data is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly share a specific contact.

WhatsApp Import and Analysis
Import a WhatsApp chat export for AI analysis (e.g., communication pattern review, dispute support). Imported content is processed for the duration of your session and not stored permanently unless you explicitly save it to Evidence Vault.

3. How to Withdraw Consent
You can withdraw any optional consent at any time:
- In-app: Settings → Consent → toggle off any optional consent
- Feature-specific: Each feature's settings screen has its own consent toggle
- By email: dpo@al-izn.com — we will process your request within 5 business days
- Account deletion: Settings → Account → Delete Account — all data purged within 30 days
Withdrawing consent for a required function (e.g., service delivery) will result in account termination, as we cannot provide the service without it.
4. Lawful Basis for Processing
- Contractual necessity: Processing required to deliver the service you contracted for (account, AI features)
- Consent: All optional processing (location, notifications, directory, contact import)
- Legal obligation: Financial records retained as required by UAE commercial law
- Legitimate interest: Aggregate service analytics (no personal data) for service improvement
